2014 Manufacturing Innovation Fund Winners
Professors Sundar V. Atre and Rajiv Malhotra of Oregon State University were recently awarded $590,000 from the Walmart Foundation. Their research project will develop novel metal additive manufacturing processes for fabricating low cost plastic injection molds. They will partner with MTI Albany (direct laser sintering), North American Höganäs (tailoring metal powders) and Arburg (testing mold performance) The video below shows the felicitation at the Walmart US Manufacturing Summit held at Denver, CO, on August 14, 2014.
